Thank you to Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand (CA ANZ) for inviting Seed Training Group to its 19th Employment Evening.
Well-dressed students and employers took in the wonderful view of the MCG from the AFL Dining Room & Tom Wills Room. We were pleased to speak with keen students interested in internship, graduate and vacation roles. Students had so much to look forward to as the night was packed with activities and opportunities to connect with major employers in their industry.
Some activities Included:
There was a handful of pre-selected accounting students who were invited to an exclusive speed networking session before doors opened to the public. Just like ‘Speed Dating’ – except students had the chance to converse with many employers in a limited time.
Similar to a ‘Silent Disco’, students were given headphones to listen to experts talking about hot topics in the industry.
At the beginning of the evening, Nicole Marrier (CA Careers Engagement Officer) announced there would be four mystery judges among the attending employers. By the end of the night, these judges were revealed to be representatives from McgrathNicol, Shine Wing Australia, LDB Accounting, and Coles. The winners were selected based on who stood out the most in terms of the attitude they had towards their career, the thought they put into their questions, and the professional way they presented themselves.
Students got to have a one-on-one practice interview with human resource industry experts to help prepare them for future interviews. This also gave employers a chance to assess possible candidates for potential roles in their company.
The event featured a professional photographer that offered FREE LinkedIn headshots that students used for their LinkedIn profile photo.
It was a successful night and we can’t wait to see what amazing contributions CA ANZ has planned for the business and accounting industry in the future!
